Akbar started history with Mr. Malhotra and his son, Pradeep Malhotra, in 1976, and in Manhattan, Akbar launched its restaurant. In northern India, the exquisite food and beautiful ambience of Akbar restaurants date back to the 16th century, when king Indian Mogul Akbar flavours to eat in a special setting. The original restaurant at Park Avenue and East 57th Street is located in Manhattan and later it is on Garden City, Long Island. AKBAR has extremely interesting and lengthy history. AKBAR is the
only Indian ruler who looked after Hindus and Muslims. AKBAR opened its doors in Edison on 1 January 1993, which in itself has great significance because of the many excellent Indian eateries in New Jersey. Pradeep Malhotra discovered that he had never heard of Edison, though NJ was mostly living in Manhattan and was well aware of Long Island. Mr. Malhotra thanks him to his buddy from New Jersey, the owner of the hotel and restaurant.
