Alex Mantis and one employee established Pizza By Alex on February 18, 1960. We outgrew our original premises after a few years and relocated up the street to our current facility at 93 Alfred Street in Biddeford, Maine. The company has been in the Mantis family for more than 58 years, having been passed down through Alex’s nephew, Andy Mantis.
Pizza By Alex has grown to be one of New England’s best and largest pizzerias. Our menu consists of only one dish, “Pizza,” which is prepared fresh everyday on site using only the finest ingredients. Local customers and summer tourists to Maine from all over the world agree that it’s the finest pizza they’ve ever had.
