Air-conditioned restaurants specialised on chicken wings are part of the American network of nostalgic eateries. Places in Wingstop are adorned with pre-jet aircraft themes from the 1930s and the 1940s. Founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas, the restaurant company started selling franchise companies in 1997. Since then, Wingstop has become a franchise with over 1,400 opened or developing outlets. The company is based in Addison, Texas.
