The Green Chili Wontons, Louisville’s favourite guilty pleasure, are made here. Since 1977, the Bristol Bar & Grille has been a fixture in the eating scene. We are now your local restaurant, with three locations to serve you no matter where you live, work, or play.
The original Bristol Bar & Grille was located on Bardstown Road, where renovations to the turn-of-the-century structure aided in the revitalization of what has since become Louisville’s most popular neighbourhood. Bristol Bar & Grille was recognised with launching the current cuisine scene in the late 1980s.
The beginning of contemporary food in Louisville is sometimes pegged to the opening of the Bristol Bar & Grille on Bardstown Road on Sept. 27, 1977. I wasn’t around then, but the theory goes that the Bristol’s innovations fairly revolutionized the town’s restaurant scene. The management put artichoke hearts in the salad and cracked peppercorns on the steak. It was one of the first restaurants to give atmosphere to a hamburger.”
