Salad 101 Menu
There are three components in any salad – the dressing, the main ingredient and the other ingredients – but there are so many possible variations. If you start to think about salads differently and explore these variations, you’ll start making delicious salads that you’ll want to come back to again and again.
The nicest salad I’ve ever had was in a restaurant in London, England, with my boyfriend, brother, and his family. It was featured at the very bottom of the menu as The Husbandry School Salad, and it was the most memorable item I had that night in a meal full of superbly cooked cuisine. It was the salad’s location at the absolute bottom of the menu that prompted me to enquire about it and purchase it. It was simply characterised as a salad of over 30 different lettuces or greens gently seasoned with vinaigrette. Growing 30 different sorts of greens isn’t easy, but the salad itself was delightfully simple — simply greens with a very, very mild vinaigrette. I couldn’t even tell you what it was.
