Indian Tanpura Menu
This is a small quiet restaurant with solid food that’s tasty and affordable. New York neighborhoods used to be filled with these places, but no more. The beef and lamb are best, not so the seafood. Vegetarian dishes are also wonderful. Come, relax, enjoy or order in. I have to say quite honestly that before this restaurant I was not a fan of Indian food. Then I ate at Indian Tanpura, and with the help of our lovely waiter (who may be the owner?) I ate a variety of terrific foods that ranged from very mild to a little bit spicy. I told him I was not a fan of spicy foods and he recommended two dishes: We had the Tandoori Chicken which has a marvelous flavor, with a generous portion of basmati rice. Then we had a combination dish that had approximately seven different dishes in it that I can’t even identify in total! There was a pull apart bread, rice, a dish that had chickpeas, a spicier sauce of some kind, and if you ask the waiters will be glad to tell you what you’re eating.
