Angus’ Cafe Bistro Menu

In central London Angus Steakhouse is a series of steak houses restaurants. There were around 30 outlets in 2001; five are still operating in July 2020. It is a common beef cattle race, Aberdeen Angus. Some restaurants still have on their sign “Aberdeen Steak Houses” (September 2016) their old trade name.In the early sixties, Aberdeen Steak Houses established by Reginald Eastwood, who began as an apprentice butcher in business at the age of 15. [quote necessary] Eastwood’s aim was to make the previous chop-house grills more contemporary and was influenced by American steak restaurants. The decor was extravagant, with glass plates and crimson velvet banquets. Menus offered fashionable items such as creamy cocktails and the Gateau in Black Forest. The eateries were included in the 1960s Good Food Guide. The business was launched on 6 February 1964 by Eastwood and partner Thomas Beale.  1965 saw the acquisition in 14 restaurants of Golden Egg by the Kaye Brothers of 76 percent.
